The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana are divided in to four suits, or elements.

Wands (Clubs) = element of fire
Cups (hearts) = element of water
Swords (Spades) = element of air
Pentacles (Diamonds) = element of earth

Each suit is divided into court cards (king, queen, prince, princess) and in to numerical card, ace through ten.
